Battle of the Bands

I have been working a lot lately, so when I showed up to work tonight and they were over-staffed I jumped at the chance at night off. Knowing Matt would be at work until 11, I drove home looking forward to a relaxing night curled up on the couch with a good movie and a little peace and quiet. Unfortunately, my neighbors had decided to host what I call "Battle of the Bands" in my parking lot. There is a Hispanic family that lives below me who loves "Mexican Polka Music" (or at least that's what I call it) and they have invited about 50 of their closest family members and pets to a fiesta on the front lawn. Across the parking lot a Southern retired Navy Vet moved in and no matter what time of day it is he is standing in the doorway barefoot waving to me blasting Christian Rock or some Soulful R&B Slow Jams. As I pulled in tonight both parties have their music of choice on max volume and are just staring at each other... I can't be sure, but I think they are having some kind of showdown. Anyone want to take bets on who will win? I'm kinda leaning toward the barefoot guy but I can't be sure. So as I sit here right now listening to tuba-circus base mixed with the lyrics of Luther Vandross I can't help but laugh a little. Thie night is not a total loss.

I was checking out Kate's blog and saw yours. Thanks for the belly laugh Abbey! Just for the record, my money is on the Mexicans based on the shear numbers and tenacity when it comes to a fiesta. Welcome to the world of blogging....
